The hollow fiber filter component is made by encapsulating hollow fibers within a shell. The shell has end fittings, each including two ports, totaling one feed port, one reflux port, and two filtrate ports. Different types and sizes of adaptors and connectors are used for the ports. The hollow fiber length is consistent with the shell, running from the feed port to the reflux port. During use, the feed liquid is pumped from the feed port under the pressure of a pump. Most of the feed liquid flows through the hollow fibers and exits from the reflux port. A portion of the feed liquid passes through the hollow fiber walls, enters the shell, and then exits from the filtrate ports.
